Sand Sister - A story about preparing for a new baby

Playing on the beach one day, Miranda looks longingly at the other children who all have brothers or sisters to share their seaside fun. She draws a picture of her perfect sister in the sand and wishes with all her heart. Much to her surprise, Old Daddy Rock gives her "Sandy", a companion she can play with for the day - but only until the tide comes in. Miranda and Sandy have lots of fun together, but at the end of the afternoon, Miranda knows she must say goodbye and her sister must return to the sea. Miranda is sad for a while, until her parents surprise her with the news that it won't be long before she has a new companion to keep her company.
Imaginatively written and charmingly illustrated by Yuyi Morales, Sand Sister is a heartwarming tale which offers parents the perfect way to prepare their children for the arrival of a new baby in the family.
